Mammoet signs support agreement for TenneT’s 2GW programme

0

Mammoet has signed a support agreement for TenneT’s 2GW program; one that will see it support Heerema Marine Contractors (Heerema) with the offshore installation of two giant topsides for the 2GW Program.

Mammoet will help to prepare them for floatover operations by skidding the topsides from HTV to the newly-built Heerema H731 barge, using hydraulic skid shoes.

After the skid-over operation, Mammoet’s unique Mega Jack System will lift the topsides to the designated floatover height onboard the H-731. A Deck Support Frame (or floatover frame) will then be pulled underneath the topsides to enable their final installation onto jacket foundations.

TenneT’s 2GW program will see a total of fourteen high-voltage direct current (HVDC) offshore grid connection systems, each with a capacity of 2 gigawatts (2GW), installed in the North Sea by 2032 – six in Germany and eight in the Netherlands.

The innovative HVDC systems receive and send ashore power generated by wind farms in the North Sea. They convert this power from AC to DC and offer a higher transmission capacity using fewer cables.

Richard Verhoeff, Sales Director at Mammoet, said: “With this contract, Mammoet will be playing a key role in securing the future of energy in Northern Europe while showcasing our unique capabilities in both high-precision skidding and jacking operations.

We are delighted to be working closely with Heerema and thank them for enabling us to play an even greater role in the wider energy transition”.

Martijn Wijdeveld, Director Supply Chain Management and Procurement at Heerema, added: “Mammoet is a market leader in offshore wind heavy lift and transport, and has proven it has the knowledge, equipment and engineers to manage the world’s biggest projects.

We look forward to collaborating with them, benefitting from their vast experience of carrying out heavy lifts and transports safely and efficiently”.

Rhenus Turkiye recertified for CEIV Pharma

0

Rhenus Türkiye has successfully renewed its CEIV Pharma certification from the International Air Transport Association (IATA), confirming its commitment to meeting the highest global standards in pharmaceutical logistics.

The recertification highlights the company’s dedication to handling temperature-sensitive healthcare products with care, precision and full regulatory compliance.

Since entering the pharmaceutical logistics sector in 2021, Rhenus Türkiye has built its service around a simple but powerful principle: behind every shipment, there’s a patient. This mindset has shaped everything from team training and infrastructure to risk management processes. With the renewed certification, Rhenus Türkiye continues to be one of only a few logistics providers in Türkiye to hold this demanding international qualification.

“This certification is more than a requirement – it’s a reflection of our promise to customers and the people they serve,” says Korcan Tugrul, Managing Director of Rhenus Türkiye. “We see every shipment not just as a product, but as something that directly impacts health and lives.”

In the Turkish market, CEIV Pharma certification remains a rare achievement. The standard, developed by IATA, is recognized worldwide as a mark of operational excellence in pharmaceutical logistics. For Rhenus Türkiye, it opens doors to major international tenders and sends a strong signal to global pharmaceutical manufacturers: their products are in safe hands.

As part of the recertification, Rhenus Türkiye used the opportunity to sharpen key internal processes. The team enhanced how it monitors and evaluates performance indicators (KPIs), implemented stronger risk-based approaches across daily operations, and expanded training through IATA’s Pharma program to boost team know-how.

“As Rhenus Türkiye, we don’t see this certification as just another requirement. For us, it’s a clear signal that we’re doing the right things for the right reasons,” says Korcan Tugrul. “We’re proud to provide pharmaceutical logistics that go beyond compliance—built on trust, consistency and care for the people behind every shipment. For us It’s not just a product. It’s a patient.”

Vestas has secured an order from ENERTRAG for V172-7.2 WM wind turbines for two projects in Brandenburg, Germany, totalling 115 MW.

It is the largest order of V172-7.2 MW turbines to date for Vestas.

Led by strong momentum in Germany, Vestas’ +7MW wind turbines, consisting of the V162-7.2 MW and V172-7.2 MW, has surpassed 1 GW of firm order intake in May 2025 with the first commercial installations of these wind turbines successfully completed.

“We’re thrilled to have closed these two projects with ENERTRAG, one of Germany’s leading and most innovative project developers”, says Jens Kück, Senior Vice President, NCE Sales Onshore. “Our partnership with ENERTRAG builds on a long-standing, trusted relationship and mirrors our strong strategic alignment and shared commitment to innovation.”

“With this order, we are realising two major wind projects in our home region of Brandenburg. Both projects will become part of the ENERTRAG Verbundkraftwerk, supporting our strategy for a secure and 100% renewable energy supply. Thanks to Vestas latest turbine technology, we can deliver more energy with fewer installations – strengthening regional supply and reducing land use. The projects will power around 85,000 households and cut over 200,000 tons of CO₂ annually. Together with Vestas, we are advancing performance, innovation and local benefit,” says Dr. Gunar Hering, CEO ENERTRAG.

The agreement is for the supply, installation, and commissioning of twelve V172-7.2 MW wind turbines for the 86 MW Malchow Ost project, and four wind turbines of the same type for the 29 MW Tantow 1 wind farm. Upon completion, Vestas will service the turbines under a 25-year Active Output Management 5000 (AOM 5000) service agreement designed to ensure optimised performance of the assets.

CEVA and bol sign early contract renewal

0

CEVA Logistics and bol recently signed an early contract renewal to extend their current partnership through 2029 with an option to extend to 2032.

The contract renewal adds mutual ESG targets around sustainability and employee well-being.

Bol is the largest online retailer in the Netherlands and Belgium, offering customers a wide variety of products, including books, music, electronics, toys, and more. This year marks 26 years of successful collaboration between CEVA Logistics and bol. CEVA currently manages operations across five strategic locations in the Netherlands—three facilities in Waalwijk, one in Oosterhout and one in Nieuwegein. These facilities encompass more than 260,000 square meters of highly automated warehousing that support bol’s expanding business needs. At one of bol’s fully automated facilities, CEVA moves 45 items per direct man-hour, more than doubling the velocity compared to a less automated warehouse. Considering the multitude of items stored in the warehouse—of varying shapes and sizes—this is an impressive throughput.

During the 2024 peak holiday season, CEVA prepared and shipped approximately 575,000 items per day—demonstrating the facility’s impressive output and adaptability to peak seasons.

The multi-site operation is driven by precise coordination through CEVA’s advanced data & control center, with innovation and automation serving as a foundation to its operational success. CEVA and bol work in close collaboration to enable continuous growth through agility, scalability and flexibility to meet increasing market demands.

Bol’s company values emphasize Sustainability and Society, which align closely with CEVA’s three-pillar CSR approach: Acting for People, Acting for Planet and Acting for Fair Trade. As a certified B-Corporation, bol must maintain rigorous standards of social and environmental performance. While the operation already reflects a commitment to these initiatives, sustainability and employee wellness targets were added as part of the recent contract renewal to formalize the commitment.

Bart de Man, Area Director, eServices, CEVA Logistics, said: “Our 25-year partnership with bol demonstrates our shared commitment to innovation and sustainability. This early renewal reflects the trust we have built together, and we’re showing that through formalizing our ESG commitments. Together, we will advance our environmental and social responsibilities while scaling bol’s growing business.”

Safak Tuna, Director Logistic Operations, bol, said: “CEVA Logistics has been essential to our growth journey. Their expertise in managing our complex operations allows us to focus on expanding our market presence while maintaining our standards. The formalized sustainability goals in our renewed contract align with our values and will help us deliver exceptional service alongside positive impact for people and planet.”

DEME Environnement marks 35 years of service in Belgium and France

0

DEME Environnement, a pioneer in soil remediation and brownfield redevelopment, proudly marks 35 years of service in Belgium and France.

Founded in 1990 as Écoterres and now part of DEME Group NV (Euronext Brussels: DEME), DEME Environnement has completed more than 800 projects across Belgium and France. The company has become a reference in remediating contaminated soils from industrial, urban, and public infrastructure sites, managing and valorizing polluted sediments from inland waterways and transforming brownfields into productive land through public-private partnerships.

To mark the 35th anniversary, a commemorative event was held in the presence of Mr. Hugues Bayet (Mayor of Farciennes), Mr. Olivier Vanderijst (Président du Comité de direction de Wallonie Entreprendre), Mr. Yves Coppieters (Walloon Minister for Health, the Environment, Solidarity and the Social Economy) and Mr. Thibaut de Villenfagne (representative of Mr. Minister Desquesnes, Vice-Chairman and Walloon Minister for Territory, Infrastructure, Mobility and Local Authorities). The presence of such esteemed dignitaries underscores the strong public-private collaboration and long-standing commitment to sustainable environmental solutions.

Originally named Écoterres, the company marked a pivotal milestone in its history in 2024 by adopting the name of its majority shareholder, DEME – which holds a 75% stake – and becoming DEME Environnement. The remaining 25% is held by Wallonie Entreprendre, a public investment and development organization in Wallonia, Belgium, and a much appreciated shareholder in Écoterres for more than 25 years. With headquarters in Farciennes and recycling centers in Tubize, Charleroi, Liège (Belgium), and Wambrechies (Hauts de France), soil remediation projects and environmental dredging in Wallonia, Hauts-de-France and Lorraine, the company employs over 90 direct staff and supports up to 200 indirect jobs through its sites, labs, and subcontractors.

For more than two decades, DEME Environnement has been at the forefront of soil remediation, environmental dredging, sediment treatment and sustainable brownfield redevelopment, turning contaminated and disused industrial sites into vibrant, purposeful spaces. In response to growing urbanization and land scarcity, DEME has pioneered a circular approach – acquiring and remediating brownfields to create new opportunities for industry, housing, and biodiversity. The company’s multidisciplinary model goes well beyond being only a contractor for the environmental works and the soil remediation, encompassing full-site redesign, permitting, and master planning. DEME Environnement is also the last Walloon company to own dredging equipment and holds a four-year framework contract with the Walloon waterways authority.
