Megagon Project Solutions are glad to share a recent successful shipment they completed from Poland to Italy.

The cargo measured 6.95 (L) x 4.95 (W) x 3.30 (H) meters and weighed 97 tons.

Once fully loaded, the truck featured dimensions of 36.00 (L) x 4.95 (W) x 4.35 (H) meters and a laden weight of 170 tons.

Megagon oversaw transport from Aleksandrów Łódzki, Poland to Trieste Port, Italy.

This delivery was a success thanks to the diligence of all teams involved.

Every hour, the equivalent of more than five bathtubs of plastic wash up along Sweden’s west coast.

Through its collaboration with CleanSea, WALLENIUS SOL aims to actively contribute to cleaning Swedish coastal waters from plastic and debris.

CLEANSEA IS A Swedish initiative founded by twins Lukas and Mikaela Julher. Their mission is to protect marine life and ensure a future for our oceans by removing plastic and waste from Sweden’s coastlines. In addition to shoreline clean-ups, CleanSea also organises surface and diving operations to clear debris from the seabed.

“Many people don’t see the extent of it, because the most public and visible areas are often cleaned by local councils, but the reality is that as much as 700-800 tonnes of plastic wash up on Sweden’s west coast every year. In 25 years, it’s estimated there will be more plastic than fish in the sea, and millions of marine animals die as a result each year,” says Mikaela Julher, founder of CleanSea.

Far out in the northern archipelago of Bohuslän lies the beautiful island group of Trossö–Kalvö–Lindön. This area is home to a rich biodiversity, including rare species such as oyster plant, sea couch grass, and nesting barred warblers. But it is also one of the hundred most vulnerable bays, islands and stretches of coastline in Bohuslän – a place where hundreds of kilos of marine debris wash ashore every year.

“To support CleanSea’s work we’ve chosen to ‘adopt’ Lindön, ensuring they can continue to keep the sea and coastline clean – all year round,” says Rebecca Tagaeus, Chief Sustainability Officer, WALLENIUS SOL.

The team from CleanSea will clean WALLENIUS SOL’s adopted island, Lindön, 3–5 times over the coming year and expects to collect around 100 kg of plastic each time.

100 for the Ocean is one of CleanSea’s largest initiatives to clean Sweden’s coastline. By having 100 different companies each adopt a bay, these exposed areas can be cleaned between one and five times per year, depending on need. With support from WALLENIUS SOL, Lindön will be cleaned 3–5 times a year. CleanSea estimates that around 100 kg of plastic will be collected during each of these clean-ups.

“When we choose which activities or organisations to support, we prioritise initiatives that promote ecological and social sustainability where we live and operate. It’s a pleasure to work with an authentic, small-scale partner like CleanSea, where we can clearly see the tangible results,” says Rebecca Tagaeus.

CleanSea’s goal during 2025 is to remove 30,000 kilos of marine plastic, and to remove even higher amounts in the future. In five years, they have already collected over 84,000 kilos. But plastic is far from the only thing floating in our seas.

“The majority of what washes ashore is single-use plastics, packaging, and fishing gear. But we find all sorts of things – space technology, safes, drugs, underwater drones, and plenty of messages in bottles,” explains Mikaela Julher.

She hopes even more companies will choose to adopt a bay along Sweden’s west coast.

“We truly celebrate each time a company adopts a bay. We need to work together to reach the goal of a clean sea, and when we’re able to keep one specific place consistently free of plastic, it can be life-saving for the animals that live there.”

Polaris Projects have successfully executed a series of complex, cross-trade multimodal shipments for the Massawa Airport Project in Eritrea.

The shipments, originating from multiple global locations, were precisely coordinated to ensure timely arrival in Massawa.

One of the major challenges in this project was the transportation of RO/RO units which measured up to 14.0 (L) x 3.80 (W) x 3.60 (H) meters, weighing up to 65 metric tons.

Approximately 35 pieces of special equipment were also delivered with the main cargo.

The limited availability of regular liner sailings to Eritrean ports – particularly for out-of-gauge and heavy cargo – necessitated meticulous planning and execution.

Fortunately, containerised accessories faced fewer shipping restrictions and were handled more easily.

Despite these logistical complexities, Polaris Projects completed the multimodal deliveries efficiently and on-schedule, meeting the high expectations of all stakeholders involved.

Kalmar, in collaboration with Mutiara Perlis Sdn Bhd (MPSB) and Mach 1 Group, Kalmar’s authorised dealer, is supporting the development of Perlis Inland Port (PIP) into a future ready logistics hub for Malaysia and the wider Southeast Asian region.

The supplied fleet of container handling equipment includes six Kalmar reachstackers, three empty container handlers, and six terminal tractors. The machines were purchased by Mach 1 during 2024, with delivery to be completed in Q3 2025.

The signing ceremony held today at the Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between MPSB and Mach 1, and PIP’s transformation into a leader in inland port services, linking key trade routes across Southeast Asia. This advanced fleet is designed to support PIP’s high-performance multimodal operations, enabling MPSB to more than double its handling capacity and work toward an ambitious goal of 1 million TEUs annually upon full project completion.

Kalmar’s value to this partnership extends beyond equipment supply. Three impressive modules of 11 x 10 x 14 meters, 150 tons each, were successfully shipped from Gijón, in northern Spain, to the port of Antwerp by Kaleido Logistics, member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) for Spain.

This achievement reflects the essence of what Kaleido works for: great coordination between all departments involved – chartering, technical office, project management, and agency – ensuring a safe delivery under a tight schedule for complex project cargo movements.

Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) is pleased to announce that it has received a visit from 16 students from International Trading Institute, Lee Kong Chian School of Business, Singapore Management University (SMU).

Since its establishment in 2000, SMU has produced a large number of human resources to trading industry, including marine transportation, and offers Industry Study Mission, overseas company visit programme, for students specializing in maritime business or global trading. This year, Tokyo was selected as the place to visit, and “K” LINE has decided to cooperate on the programme since Singapore is an important business base for the company.

At the company visit on May 13, 2025, “K” LINE offered a two-hour programme, including a lecture on its business and environmental initiatives followd by a Q&A session, during which the students asked various questions actively. They seemed to be particularly interested in “K” LINE’s environmental initiatives.

“K” LINE will continue to promote understanding of the shipping industry by accepting company visits and cooperate in the development of the next generation.

EFS Logistics Company Limited, a member of the Project Logistics Alliance representing Saudi Arabia, has successfully handled the shipment of a Liebherr RL66 Pipe-layer from the Netherlands to Saudi Arabia.

This successful operation highlights the company’s commitment to precision and reliability.

The shipment involved an RL66-21105 base machine with the HS Code 8426 4900, and the cargo was transported using one standard lowbed trailer and one special lowbed trailer to accommodate the equipment’s size and specifications. As a temporary import, this operation showcased the EFS Logistics team’s ability to ensure that every part of the process runs smoothly.

The cargo was shipped via the Port of Antwerp, Belgium, to the Port of Jeddah, and then transported to its final destination in Khurais, Saudi Arabia. Despite the long distance, EFS Logistics demonstrated that no destination is out of reach when it comes to the operations they handle.

Mammoet successfully relocated a beach pavilion on the island of Texel in the Dutch province of North Holland.

This work was necessary following recommendations by local authorities that sands dunes close to the pavilion be allowed to grow.

This, in turn, will ensure that there is sufficient room for the dune to grow in order to be strong enough to counteract erosion and rising sea levels. Mammoet performed this work on behalf of JLD Contracting BV.
It was important that the move was carried out at relatively short notice, so after just weeks of preparation time the whole pavilion was rolled to its new location in just ten minutes. A live audience watched on, via YouTube streaming.

Given the structure’s wooden composition, it was also important to handle it with care.

The minutely adjustable surface provided by the deck of Mammoet’s SPMTs made sure that the building could be carried in one piece without deformation. Needless to say, this was the first time a pavilion had been move in this way, in the Netherlands.

After JLD Contracting B.V. installed piling at the building’s proposed new location that would be long enough to absorb future erosion of the beach, they installed a beam layer perpendicular to that on which the building formerly stood.

A steel platform was constructed beneath the pavilion to guard against bending of the structure, before it was disconnected from gas, water, sewerage and electricity utilities. Paal 17 Aan Zee could then be lifted using the stroke of two SPMT trains.

The SPMTs were then driven under the building and took the full weight of it, allowing the old piling to be cut. The pavilion was then driven forward by Mammoet’s SPMT operator, over the newly installed beams, and lowered.

With the pavilion in its new location, beach goers can once again enjoy a popular place to relax, while protecting the local environment.

Hiab (Nasdaq Helsinki: HIAB), a leading provider of smart and sustainable on road load handling solutions, has secured MOFFETT truck mounted forklift, HIAB loader crane and WALTCO tail lift orders in the USA.

A strategic customer in the roofing supply segment placed two separate orders for HIAB loader cranes and MOFFETT truck mounted forklifts with a combined value of EUR 7.2 million. Two separate customers in the fleet management segment ordered WALTCO tail lifts with a combined value of the orders of EUR 8.2 million.

The orders were booked in Q1, 2025 with deliveries scheduled throughout 2025.

Hiab has maintained long-standing partnerships with the three customers, having been an integral part of their US-wide operations as an equipment and service provider for years.

The WALTCO tail lift units on order are from the C, EM, HLF and WDV series with the majority of units from the WALTCO HLF series. WALTCO liftgates are designed to tackle logistics and distribution from coast to coast, from urban city use to heavy duty long haul and special applications. For seventy years, WALTCO has been a reliable liftgate provider in the USA.

The truck-mounted forklifts units on order are part of the MOFFETT M8 NX Range. With a lifting capacity of up to 3,500 kg, the M8 NX can transfer heavy loads quickly and safely even across challenging terrain, while compact enough to be carried on almost any truck or trailer.

The ordered HIAB loader cranes comprise three models from the heavy range portfolio with the majority of the units being HIAB X-HiPro 408. The cranes have the HiPro advanced remote controlled system for optimal precision, performance, safety and full remote control over the toughest jobs in construction and other industries.

Marinetrans are pleased to share their recent awarding of a logistics contract for two floating liquefied natural gas vessel construction projects.

Under the agreement, Marinetrans will provide comprehensive project logistics services, including the transportation of critical components, large heavy-lift deliveries, supply chain coordination, and on-site logistics support worldwide.

These services will ensure the seamless execution of the FLNG vessel construction, a key development in global energy infrastructure.

Sarens is proud to play a pivotal role in the construction of the Kyzylorda Combined Heat and Power (CHP) station, a groundbreaking 240MW energy project in Kazakhstan.

As the country’s first power project implemented through foreign investment, this development represents a major milestone in enhancing the region’s energy infrastructure.

Located in the Kyzylorda region, this new power station aims to ensure a stable and reliable electricity supply. The project will replace outdated infrastructure with modern, efficient technology that improves sustainability and reduces emissions. To support this critical initiative, Sarens was entrusted with the rental and deployment of an extensive fleet of cranes, ranging from 35T to 600T capacities.

The planning phase presented logistical challenges, particularly due to high demand for equipment during the summer shutdown period. However, Sarens successfully mobilised the necessary resources, ensuring the seamless transportation and setup of cranes crucial to the project’s success. The project’s key lifting operations involved the installation of six HRSG modules (150T max), gas turbine generators (153T), gas turbines (100T), and steam turbine generators (141,4T). Our 350T crane was active for nearly five months, handling site preparation, steel erection, and HRSG installations, while our 600T crane played a crucial role in executing complex lifts with precision.

One of the most intricate tasks was placing generators onto their spring-loaded foundations. To ensure a safe and precise landing, Sarens’ 600T crane operator meticulously reduced the hydraulic pump speed, slowing down the crane winch hoist. Additional shim plates were strategically placed to minimise impact and guarantee stability. For the HRSG installation, a dual-crane lift was employed, with the 600T main crane working in tandem with the 350T tailing crane to position the modules. The main crane slewed clockwise to install the modules safely within the HRSG casing, demonstrating Sarens’ technical expertise in executing complex lifting sequences.

Sarens executed the transportation of cranes over long distances, with equipment moved from the Aktobe and Karaganda regions—each transport covering approximately 1.200 km and taking about 20 days. In total, around 30 trailers were utilised in multiple trips to deliver the necessary cranes to the job site. The complete setup of all cranes required 10 days, ensuring they were operational and ready to support the lifting schedule.

Vestas and LM Wind Power are pleased to announce a deal that will see LM Wind Power’s blade factory in Goleniów near Szczecin, Poland, become part of Vestas’ growing European manufacturing setup for an undisclosed amount paid by Vestas to LM Wind Power.

The factory produces blades for Vestas’ onshore wind solutions and will continue to play a key role in meeting Poland’s and the rest of Europe’s growing energy needs.

Vestas Chief Technology and Operations Officer, Anders Nielsen says: “Europe needs secure, affordable and sustainable energy more than ever, and we’re pleased to expand our European manufacturing footprint to support wind energy’s growing role in Europe’s energy system. I want to thank LM Wind Power for their support and collaboration through the years, and we’re very pleased that our respective strategic priorities have made it possible for the factory to continue operating and be part of Vestas’ continued growth in Europe.”

LM Wind Power CEO, Hanif Mashal says: “This proposed transaction is a strategic move for LM Wind Power and GE Vernova. This transaction would enable us to simplify our business and reinvest capital into our core European Union manufacturing facilities producing GE Vernova wind products to better serve our loyal customer base in EU. We will work closely with Vestas to help ensure a smooth completion of the transaction.”

The factory was established in 2009, expanded in 2017 and will continue to deliver blades for Vestas’ onshore wind solutions, including the V172-7.2 MW turbine. The transaction is subject to the required regulatory approval.
