Central Oceans UK manages major shipment

0

Central Oceans’ UK team has successfully managed the latest phase of a major project shipment from India to the UK, handling around 50 cargo units received from four vessels.

The cargo arrived as breakbulk, on flat racks and in open-top containers, and included over-width and over-height equipment measuring up to 27.3 metres long. Among the largest pieces was a deodorizer with a gross weight of more than 47 tonnes.

The scale and dimensions of the shipment called for detailed preparation. Before the vessels arrived, the team reviewed potential challenges and put handling plans and contingencies in place. This preparation proved valuable when vessel timings changed and one vessel’s port call was altered at short notice.

Central Oceans coordinated collection directly from under the ship’s hook, together with terminal shunts, lifting and onward transport. On-site attendance and close oversight allowed the team to assess changes quickly, adjust the arrangements and keep the operation moving through each stage.

The successful completion of this phase reflects the combination of advance planning, practical experience and close cooperation with handling and transport partners. From vessel arrival through to delivery, the UK team maintained the attention to detail needed to manage complex project cargo.
