Total Movements Pvt. Ltd, member to the Worldwide Project Consortium (WWPC) in India, had to overcome significant logistical and environmental challenges for the Door-to-Port complex movement of a 375 ton oversized Vacuum Tower, from the western to the eastern coast of India.

A company project team leader explained: “Our comprehensive logistics scope included picking up the cargo from supplier’s works, transporting it to the load port on the western coast, coastal shipping to the discharge port on the eastern coast of India, and managing the discharge process.

Key highlights of this challenging operation include: Opted for Multimodal (Road + Coastal) shipping to bypass geographical and infrastructural constraints; Critical oversized cargo dimensions of 55.73 x 10 x 9.45 meters; Customized transport configuration and mobilized suitable equipment to adhere to weight and space restrictions at the load port; Obtained 16 electric line shutdowns along the route, enabling smooth passage without compromising safety
Major civil works at critical turning points, including deploying 100+ steel plates to stabilize weak sections and ensure safe manoeuvring; Mitigated weather impacts as the movement was conducted in monsoons; Chartering a Super Heavy Lift vessel and converting it to an Indian-flagged vessel for coastal shipping; Executed seamless double banking operations at the discharge port under stringent Marine Warranty Surveyor supervision.

These engineered solutions are a testament to our team’s commitment, agility, and technical expertise in executing complex multimodal logistics with precision.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all stakeholders for their unwavering support in making this complex project a success.”
