Nonpareil and PROLOG India collaborate

Nonpareil International Freight & Cargo Services in the Philippines are pleased to share a recently accomplished project in collaboration with fellow PCN member, PROLOG India as the chartered vessel provider.

The OOG breakbulk shipment was handled on a hook-to-hook basis from Manila in the Philippines to Chennai, India. The cargo consisted of 6 used metal working press machines with a total gross weight of 179,000kg.

The job scope handled by Nonpareil International included: Rigging out of the 6 machines inside the factory plant in Calamba, Laguna; Skidding of all machines to the loading area; Lifting to multi-axle trucks; Set-down, lashing, & securing; Transport to Manila Multipurpose Terminal (MMT) at Manila Port; Loading to the chartered vessel at the port.

The pre-operations plan for the implementation of the job scope included site survey at the factory plant for the rigging & skidding, identifying a suitable area for the loading activities, route survey for the transport from factory to port, and permits & clearance.

The equipment and materials used to execute the project included: Robotic dollies & crawler machines to remotely control the skidding; A 110tn crane, a 45tn crane and 16tn forklift for the loading; 4 low-bed multi-axle trailers;
1 flat-bed; Rigging tools and lashing, securing & dunnage materials.

The project cargo operations were completed within 5 days thanks to the careful planning and process meetings ensuring a smooth execution. The cargo arrived safely at the port in good time for the chartered vessel’s arrival for loading.
