Mr Pooven Moodley is the Owner and Managing Director of Transwide Freight cc, a successful Namibian Transport/ Logistics Company. Transwide Freight specialises in bond store facilities and warehousing, with an in transit and multi-purpose bond facility. The company offers customs clearing and forwarding via sea, air, road or rail; and customised packing and household removals.

They are specialists in hunting trophy handling with access to worldwide markets.

Commodity broking is a key area of focus and Transwide Freight has an office in BRAZIL . Along with its projects and consultancy services, Transwide Freight is an international freight forwarder with a world network of agents.Also engaged in Commodity Broking .

Transwide Freight has been an Associate Member of the International Export Association of London, in the United Kingdom , since 1977 , by examination

In addition, Transwide Freight has been an Associate Member of the African Chamber of Commerce in New Orleans, USA since 1995 .

With its keen insight into the world of international trading, the African Chamber of Commerce has orchestrated a system that brings a wide variety of industrial products to and from the continents of the world. Not only does the Chamber of Commerce develop creative and innovative systems that facilitate trade agreements; it also provides consulting services to companies interested in expanding their export or import programmes, especially to and from developing nations. Training is key to cementing Africa’s position on the map.

Mr Moodley is also an Executive Director of : INDIA NAMIBIA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY .

Transwide Freight is also a member of the Trade Leader’s Club in Madrid, Spain.

Awards

In 2001 Transwide Freight was awarded the Golden Africa Award (New Millennium Award). This trophy was created by the Trade Leaders’ Club and the foreign trade magazine African Trade Review to reward companies from all over the African continent distinguishing themselves in the fields of industry, commerce and services; and in so doing, contributing to the development of Africa in general, and specifically their countries.

Over 150 entrepreneurs met in Dakar, Senegal to mark the awards and to establish commercial relations and human contacts. The aim was to promote relationships among African businessmen and with foreign companies – a forum for discussion and resultant mutual benefit.

Transwide Freight returned to Dakar in 2003 to receive the All-Africa Award for Service Excellence – a notable achievement.

Transwide Freight was the recipient of the United Nations Industrial Technology Development Award (UNIDO) and the winner of the Arch of Europe Gold Star Award in Frankfurt, Germany in 2002.

Business Initiative Directions (BID) awards companies and professionals for their contributions to the business world. BID carries out continuous polls among companies who vote for the best companies. The awards are presented on the basis of meeting the criteria of the QC100 TQM (Total Quality Management), the contents of which serve as guidelines to business leaders to improve processes and systems.

Transwide Freight was also the winner of the International Transport New Millennium Gold Award and the Golden Europe Service Quality Award in Paris, France.
