Luxembourg joins DHL Parcel Europe network

BONN/LUX: June 1, 2018. Post Luxembourg has joined the DHL Parcel Europe network ‘Parcel Connect’, which offers a standardized parcel service throughout Europe including returns.

Introduced by Deutsche Post DHL in 2014 to simplify, extend and accelerate the shipping of parcels in Europe, the network now covers 26 countries.

Initially the service will only cover the import and delivery of parcels from other parts of Europe via Post Luxembourg’s network and include parcel notification by e-mail/SMS; the option of changing the delivery date; and simplified returns without any additional cost to recipients.

“With Post Luxembourg as a new strategic partner, we are able to offer a service for Luxembourg that is even better tailored to the needs of B2C e-commerce customers,” declared DHL Parcel CEO Achim Dünnwald. “This extends our proven ‘Parcel Union’ partnership model to 10 partners in 14 countries, in [only] its third year of existence.”

In a second phase, Luxembourg’s post organisation will also offer a similar level of export services to the rest of Europe.

“On average, around 9,000 parcels from Europe arrive at our national sorting center. Thanks to Parcel Connect, we are able to offer our customers an even better service and hope to further increase this volume,” said Hjoerdis Stahl, deputy managing director of Post Luxembourg. “The cooperation with DHL Parcel, and as a member of the DHL Parcel Europe network, also emphasizes the positioning of Post Luxembourg in the logistics area, in which we see good opportunities for growth.”
